Mind In Motion Academy is a fast-growing, woman-owned company led by its founder Erin Anderson — known to her students as the Math Whisperer. In grade school, Erin discovered her passion for mathematics, and during middle school she started sharing that gift with classmates who were struggling, tutoring them after school.
What began as casual peer tutoring evolved into a professional calling. Erin went on to work at several tutoring and educational coaching companies before launching Mind In Motion — the sought-after academy she built with a singular aim: making every subject comprehensive, engaging, and effective for every student.
Her programs provide customized learning strategies and tailored study plans that produce real results — students consistently overcoming academic challenges and the woes of test-taking. She also prepares students for ACT, SAT, and Standards of Learning testing using techniques that improve scores and build lasting confidence.

What subjects do you tutor in?
At Mind In Motion, we have experts who tutor K-12 Math, Science, Reading and Writing. We also have tutors who help with standardized test prep including SAT, ACT, and SOL exams.
What is the structure of a session?
We start by going over the student's study schedule and update it with all upcoming assignments. Then we focus on concepts and areas the student needs help with based on their specific work. Once the session concludes, we send emails to parents summarizing what we covered and next steps.
Do you offer a free session?
We offer a free 15-minute consultation to determine if we would be a good fit for the student and their goals.
What is your cancellation/refund policy?
We do not offer refunds. However, if you know you cannot make a session, you may reschedule with at least 24 hours notice. For monthly packages, sessions must fall within the billing month — they do not roll over.
Do you work with schools and organizations?
Yes! We work alongside public school math teachers in the classroom and provide before/after school tutoring. Contact us to discuss a personalized program for your school or organization.
